BIOGRAPHY

Ryan Carlson is an Annie Award and Canadian Screen Award nominated composer. His credits include film, television, commercial, and video games. His commercial music has won multiple awards including a Cannes Lions Award.

Ryan's most recent work was scoring the film adaptation of Luke Pearson's graphic novel Hilda and the Mountain King. The story is a continuation of the Annie and Emmy award winning Netflix series Hilda. The film was directed by Andy Coyle and stars Bella Ramsey as the voice of Hilda.

Ryan grew up in rural Alberta exploring nature in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. As a teenager he began writing and recording his own music with a 4-track tape recorder. This independent approach has informed his authentic and hands-on style of composing.
